Privacy policy

ElScoreKam is a free score counter for volleyball and padel. It is built to need as little data as possible: there are no accounts, no cookies and no ads.

What stays on your phone

• The current match (team names, colours, rules, score, the point log) and your settings are saved in your browser's storage on your phone. They never leave your phone unless you use the live features below.
• Groups of player names you save for Americano / Mexicano ("Thursday group") are stored on the organiser's phone only.
• You can delete them at any time by clearing the website data for ElScoreKam in your browser settings.

Live features (watch link, remote phone, Siri shortcuts)

• When the scoring phone is online, it sends the current score, team names, colours and rules to our server, so people with the watch link can follow the match and remote phones or Siri shortcuts can add points.
• The server keeps this only in memory, never on disk. A room nobody has used for 48 hours is deleted, and everything is gone when the server restarts.
• Anyone with the watch link can see the score and team names. Only share it with people you want to see them. The remote link and Siri addresses can change the score, so keep them private.

Americano / Mexicano sessions

• When an organiser runs a session, the organiser's phone sends the players' names, the rounds, the results and the standings to our server, so the phones on each court can show and say who plays, and send their scores back.
• This follows the same rules as live rooms: memory only, never on disk, deleted after 48 hours without use, and gone when the server restarts.
• Anyone with the session's watch link can see the names and standings. The court QR codes can send scores, so only show them on the courts.

Usage counts (analytics)

• We count how the app is used: page visits, matches started and finished per sport and format, which hands-free method was used (for example "Siri" or "clicker"), how often results are shared, and Americano / Mexicano sessions (format, number of courts, points or timer). We don't collect names, scores, locations or contacts.
• To count daily visitors without cookies, the server mixes your IP address and browser type with a secret that changes every day and keeps only the result. Your IP address is not stored, and the same person can't be recognised from one day to the next.
• We don't keep web server access logs.
• If your browser is set to "Do Not Track", nothing is counted.

Voice

• The spoken score is produced by your phone's own voice; no recording is made.
• Voice commands are optional and only work while you have them switched on. They use your browser's speech recognition, which may send audio to your browser or phone maker (for example Google or Apple) to turn it into text. We never receive the audio.

Who runs the server

ElScoreKam runs on a server we rent from Hostinger. We don't sell or share data with anyone.

Children

ElScoreKam doesn't ask for any personal information, so it can be used by players of any age.
